Le chiantigiane
The Consortium Le Chiantigiane was set up in … and now has a great patrimony of 2,460 hectares of working vineyards. This patrimony is divided among 2,000 Tuscan associated winegrowers who, through membership of cooperative wineries, got together in 1967 to set up the Consortium Le Chiantigiane for the bottling and sale of their wines. From the start the primary aim of Le Chiantigiane has been the protection, distribution and propagation of Tuscan excellence throughout the world. The transformation of the grapes takes place in the wineries of the associate winemakers, using modern and state-of-the-art technology. From the vine through to bottling, from the choice of the grape to the creation of the blends, Le Chiantigiane is always present and provides its members with technical, agronomic and technological support to ensure the perfect quality of the wines. Le Chiantigiane has two bottling plants, one at its headquarters in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa in the heart of Chianti and the other in Madonnino di Braccagni in the province of Grosseto, in the Maremma. The two plants, equipped with modern technology, produce annually around 15 million bottles in the various formats to meet market demand (375 ml., 750 ml. bottles, 1.5 lt. fiasco)

My father Enio Ravazzi founded the winery in 1956 , bringing our wines to be known for their authenticity and to make them appreciated throughout Italy as an excellent accompaniment to traditional dishes. 80s:I took over the management of the company trying to enhance our tradition and at the same time aiming for innovation and raising the quality of our products, managing to bring our wines to Europe and all over the word. With my wife Roberta we have created two new product lines "Collezione Privata" and "Ciaccioni" which reflect the attention and care for details that we have placed in our new wines. Innovation starts from respect for tradition and our land where we grow up our children. Thanks to the young energy of our children Martina, Matteo and Francesco, who are entering adulthood and begin to take their first steps in managing the family business, we move towards a future full of challenges, new projects and lots of ideas. with a look at our past and great attention to the quality that distinguishes us.

castelli del grevepesa logo
Castelli del grevepesa
The 1960swere difficult years for the Chianti Classico: an economic and technical crisis hit Chianti winegrowing, which was still stuck using old production methods. It was the visionary Sir Armando Nunzi who finally managed to persuade a group of winegrowers to get on board with the innovative idea of founding a modern cooperative winery capable of harvesting and producing wine from the grapes of future partners. Thus it was that on 21 June 1965, Sir Gualtiero Armando Nunzi, together with his initial group of 17 winegrowers, united under the name of Castelli del Grevepesa. The shared intention was to bring together various winegrowers from the different areas of Florentine Chianti Classico , in order to safeguard the land and maintain intact the age-od traditions of Tuscan winegrowing; the long-established know-how that farmers still today pass on from one generation to the next. The objective was ambitious: to produce high quality wines in compliance with the strict regulations of the law and of the consortium then called Consorzio Gallo Nero (now Consorzio del Chianti Classico), operating careful grape selection and a rigorously controlled vinification process. The symbol chosen was the iris, a flower that grows naturally between Val di Greve and Val di Pesa. This perennial flower resists both the sweltering heat of summer and the winter frost: it is a symbol of the solidity of Castelli del Grevepesa and of its unbreakable bond with Florentine culture and traditions. Over 50 years later, Castelli del Grevepesa today has over 120 associate winegrowers. The largest Chianti Classico family, who with passion and hard work produces fine quality wines, accessible to everyone, recognised and valued throughout the world.
